Nicole Robbins and J.P. McCauley were married on Oct. 5, 2012, at The Barn at St. Catherine’s at Bell Gable in Fayetteville, Ark. Their reception was held nearby at Pratt Place Barn. This was my first Scottish-themed wedding with the groom and groomsmen in kilts, which was very cool. I had a lot of fun working with Nicole and J.P. and their families. The wedding ceremony was originally planned to take place on the lawn in front of the Bell Gable, which timed with a 6 o’clock start time would have been absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn’t feel the need to cooperate and the weather was cold and rainy. But, what really made it all come together was Nicole and J.P.’s attitudes. They are a completely laid-back couple and took the whole day in stride despite the weather and change of venue plans. Oh, and karaoke at the reception helped a lot too.
