Vance Green and Sarah Smith were married on Friday, June 11, 2010, at The Garden Room in Fayetteville, Ark. I first met Vance during my earlier days at The Morning News when he was a photographer for The Traveler, the University of Arkansas’ student newspaper. Over the years we’ve shared the same end zones, photo wells and base lines a time or two. Eventually he took a staff position with a newspaper in Idaho, worked there for a while and then returned to Northwest Arkansas to shoot weddings. About this time a year ago Vance was assisting me on a portrait shoot during the Razorbacks’ football media day. It was then that I learned he and Sarah were engaged. I asked Vance if he had found a photographer yet and if not, I would love to shoot their wedding. As fate would have it he hadn’t. At first the thought of shooting another wedding photographer’s wedding seemed a bit odd. In the end though it was all very natural and I had a blast working with Vance and Sarah. They’re a very fun couple. Like peas and carrots really. And Vance is a very lucky man. Sarah is a sweet, witty, beautiful lady. I’m very happy for the two of them and honored to have been a part of their wedding experience. Congratulations guys!
